Here’s my very first celestial star block I made! It was kind of my practice
run before I started the blocks for my actual quilt. It definitely taught me a
few things to be more careful with and aware of on my other blocks!! I turned
this one into a mini quilt.
I went all out quilting this one; thread changes at every color, lots of fancy
shmancy-ness (yes, it’s a word ;) ). I’m pretty sure I put more thread in this
24” square than I do into most regular baby quilts! By the way, it was a great
practice for my FMQ, which NEEDS lots of practice :)
I did leave the bobbin white the whole time though, so this shot of the back
shows the quilting pretty well. I used a pink on pink ta dot for the back.
I love this little mini!! It may or may not be winging its way to a new home
soon ;)
This is so gorgeous!!! I absolutely love everything about it!!!! You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI really like the whimsical look you added to such a geometric block, with the quilting and the binding.
